The most comprehensive Sudoku site on line. What IS Sudoku?

This simple game, without any particular complicated features or graphics, caused
unbelievable international fuss: sudoku puzzle collections are firmly in the UK Top
10 best-selling book chart! Nowadays people can be divided into two main groups:
those who got addicted to it and those who just haven't heard of it yet.

BBC news quotes a veteran puzzle producer Michael Mepham: "I\'ve never seen anything
in the puzzle industry that\'s caused such a fuss"!

How did Sudoku start?

Sudoku initially became popular in Japan in 1986. In 2005 it got popularity around
the world and turned to be as addictive as 1980s Rubik\'s cube!

Sudoku, the Japanese number puzzle craze that is currently sweeping across the UK,
is now taking the internet by storm.

The game, which in Japanese means Number Place, requires a player putting the digits
one to nine in a box made up of 81 squares, so that no number is repeated in any of
the nine vertical or horizontal lines.

\'Sudoku\' is now the 10th most searched-for term within the UK\'s Entertainment-Games
sector and makes up 0.18 per cent of all online searches, according to the latest
figures.

Searches for \'sudoku\' doubled between 7 and 14 May and also "increased
significantly" in the week ending 21 May, reports web measurement firm Hitwise,
while searches for the spelling variation \'su doku\' also more than doubled from 30
April to 7 May.

So what is this Sudoku fuss about? Well a new web site devoted to this addictive
puzzle http://sudoku-x.info may offer answers.

It's actually a puzzle that primary could be found in newspapers & books. It looks
like just another numbers game, the difference is it can be played using logic
alone, no maths involved at all! The only rule is the following: you should fill
empty squares the board with digits, in a way that in every column, every row and
every 3x3 area, each from the digits 1-9 appears exactly once. Player should do that
in as short time as possible.

A confirmed Sudoku addict has put together a great Sudoku resource which offers
games information and SOLUTIONS!
